The role of copper in railways - invaluable!
In railway infrastructure, copper components and parts are crucial for the smooth functioning of traction networks, power supply, signaling and control systems. Copper busbars, used in electric locomotives and trains, provide reliable power to electric motors. Copper connectors and sleeves, used in track structures, guarantee stability and safety of train travel. In practice, copper products have a huge impact on the shape and efficiency of railway infrastructure. This material is used to build:
- Overhead wires - copper traction lines provide power to trains (as well as trams and subways);
- Collector rails (bus bars), i.e. current-conducting elements that distribute electricity to various circuits in the railway infrastructure;
